The share of Iran’s railroads in land transit reached 30% during the last year , showing a 220% increase compared with previous, according to the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways.
“In 2019, the figure stood at 10%. The increase in railroad’s share from transit over the six-month period is partly due to the closure of road border crossings after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic,” Saeed Rasouli was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Roads and Urban Development Ministry.
